Honoring the life and work of Fred Dingler
Fred Dingler
Fred was a close friend of Zeller Studio through his participation in the WaterArt Group that meets monthly in the studio.
Fred told us “For me, being an artist is not merely a chosen profession. It is a way of capturing and transcribing what I see in life so that others may enjoy it as well.
After graduating from The American Academy of Art in Chicago, he began his 40-year career as an advertising illustrator. In 2000, he started his fine art career to paint things that he found interesting with meaning and beauty. During his time as an illustrator, he had to paint all kinds of subjects. He felt that all the different art techniques, mediums, and subject matters he was required to use enhanced his personal fine art style and prepared him to be a teacher of art as well.
He was a full-time painter for over 65 years and he continued to enjoy the challenges of creating art in watercolor, oil, acrylic, pencil, pen and ink until his last days. He was a signature member of the MN Watercolor Society.
